Sensor Calibration — Linear Range
Assumptions
Where does this sensor begin departing from its calibrated linear response?
Voltage output linear in applied reference force, with a fitted zero-load offset.
Reference force: Q / N · Sensor output: V / V
Reference scale is an assumed response noise floor, not measured uncertainty.
- Stable zero-load offset and reference-force measurement.
- Fixed operating conditions and approximately linear early calibration.
- A generic educational sensor; no commercial device specification is implied.
Early calibrated response before appreciable compression.
Sensor response can become increasingly inconsistent with the fitted linear calibration at high input. The synthetic response compresses smoothly. A residual pattern does not prove a particular electrical failure mechanism.

Residuals
ΔV / VResidual = measured sensor output − reference prediction. A sustained pattern matters more than a single unusual point.
